I love simple smoothies. Complicated smoothie recipes make me sad. I don’t always have greek yogurt or chia seeds on hand, but I always have canned fruit and some kind of frozen fruit. In this case, canned pears and frozen mangoes are the stars of the show. In fact, they are the only stars in this show. There’s only two ingredients.
Pears don’t have a ton of flavor, but they add sweetness and help create a smooth texture. The mangoes provide the distinct flavor and give this smoothie a dose of refreshing nutrients. Together, they make quite the performance.
Easy To Chew is a food blog created by a dentist, a public health professional, and a registered dietitian. Their mission? To cook up delicious recipes dedicated to those who are in need of foods which are easy to chew, easy to swallow, and easy to love!
If your eating situation requires this to be a thinner or thicker consistency, it’s easy to do. You can make it thinner by adding any juice, or you can thicken it with a food/drink thickener of your choosing.
Mangoes are tough and fibrous, which for many people are difficult to both chew and swallow. A vitamix blender fixes all that. Having to chew mangoes will be a thing of the past. Your smoothies should be smooth…..redundant, but true nonetheless. Get a vitamix and your days of hard-to-chew and hard-to-swallow fruit will be a thing of the past.
