I will shamelessly confess that I discovered the near-magical combination of mangoes and bananas when I ate some of my one year old’s baby food. I’ve played around with a number of variations of this recipe but arrived to the conclusion that frozen mangoes are the way to go. The resulting cold puree provides a satisfying temperature contrast to the warm and smooth cream of wheat. If you want it sweeter, feel free to add some white sugar to the finished product, enjoy!

Cream of Wheat with Banana-Mango Puree has a smooth texture and is soft enough that it requires no chewing.
There are roughly one million wheat kernels in a bushel of wheat.
Pureeing: The act of making a puree (usually of a fruit or vegetable). There is no finer forger of purees than the Vitamix. Its so powerful that you could probably make a pretty convincing puree using only golf balls. If you don’t have one yet, strongly consider getting it. In my opinion, it is one of the most powerful tools in making foods easy to chew.
