If you’ve read my cookbook you will know how I feel about oatmeal. Long story short, I feel many happy, positive, universe changing things about this magical grain. Finding new succulent variations of oatmeal has become something of a hobby for me. Nutella and Banana is the newest addition to my oatmeal collection. To me, Nutella is a candy bar in a jar. You can’t just have one spoon full. After a long day at work, there is nothing better than taking alternating bites of Nutella and banana. They deserve to be together. Just add oatmeal and you’re set.
Easy To Chew is a food blog created by a dentist, a public health professional, and a registered dietitian. Their mission? To cook up delicious recipes dedicated to those who are in need of foods which are easy to chew, easy to swallow, and easy to love!
Nutella & Banana Oatmeal is soft, moist, and contain multiple soft textures. Any textures requiring chewing have been prepared so that there are no pieces larger than ¼ inch (or 6mm). These foods are soft enough that, with minimal effort, they can be easily formed into swallowable-sized portions.
If you require a pureed texture, just add the finished dish to a food processor (or blender) and blend until the desired consistency is reached. Adding more banana can help with the smoothness. You could also make it thinner by adding some cream or milk while blending.
Oatmeal contains beta-glucans, a soluble fiber that has been shown to help play a role in lowering blood cholesterol.
